Iran ask for war: Time for US to declare a war on energy independence

Iran is already trying to hold the world ransom on oil and natural gas supply.

Imagine what would happen if Iran had nuclear weapons.

Is is time for the Iranian people to have their own Persian spring revolution and overthrow the Ayatollah and President Ahmadinejad before the rest of the world have no other option than to start the war.

Vice president Mohammad Reza Rahimi has warned that Iran will not allow a "drop of oil" to pass through the Straits of Hormuz if the West widens sanctions against his country.
The Iranian mad Mullahs are gearing up their unfortunate people for an overt war in which they will sustain terrible losses.

The American people genuinely does not want a war with Iran, but if Iran attacks American interests through the Straits of Hormuz , that will change.

An attack from Iran would set off the kind of Jacksonian rage that followed Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor or indeed that transformed American foreign policy after 9/11.
Iranian people need to understand that this kind of war with the United States will involve more than air raids and cruise missile strikes.

The war will certainly change the regime in Tehran and could well bring an end to Iranian state.
Instead of Iran, a large multi-ethnic and multi-faith state, the post-war US - Iran period might see the ethnic and religious minorities of Iran going off on their own as independent autonomous regions.

The Arabs in south Iran might break free to set up a new Gulf oil state on their own.The Sunni Balochs might come under Pakistani influence.

The Kurds might become as autonomous as those in IraqThe Azeris and Turks might choose to merge with Turkey and Azerbaijan or set up an authority on their own.

The US priority in this conflict would be to win the war decisively, not to preserve the Iranian status quo and any peace settlement would give the United States effective guarantees against any future Iranian threat.

Iran does not have the naval power to block the Straits of Hormuz, and its ageing air force would be no match for U.S., NATO and Gulf Military.
Iran's navy chief warned Wednesday that his country can easily close the strategic Strait of Hormuz at the mouth of the Persian Gulf, the passageway through which a sixth of the world's oil flows.

The media runs this script every year. It's a lame recurring psychological op.

They're using it as an excuse to raise oil prices, too. This is PR work for multi-national military and oil companies.
In the event, the United States and NATO will likewise be compelled to do what is necessary to make those oil shipments to continue to go through the Strait of Hormuz--including force if that is what it takes

Should Iran attempt to close the Straits of Hormuz, the US would have no choice but to respond with overwhelming military force to protect Western economies and keep the oil flowing.
Here we go again. It is absolute lunacy that America has wasted 10's of thousands of lives and trillions of dollar all in defense of the almighty oil barrel.

When are we going to stop? When are we going to use the resources we waste on protecting big oil to develop renewable, clean energy right here at home.
It is time for US to declare a war on energy independence.

The US can cut 100% on its foreign oil dependence by investing in oil shale, natural gas, coal, wind and solar power.

The United States has largest energy reserves on earth.

The United States has 28% of all the world's coal reservesAs long as we're going to use oil, natural gas, coal then we might as well work to draw it from home, or as close to it as possible .

New technology, including a process called hydraulic fracturing, enables the tapping of natural gas sources in the previously cost-prohibitive U.S. regions of Appalachia, the Mid-Continent, the Gulf Coast, and in the Rocky Mountains.
U.S. natural gas reserves have increased 23 percent, mostly on the ability to access those new sources, with estimated reserves totaling 2 trillion cubic feet as of the end of 2011.

The United States has the largest known deposits of oil shale in the world, according to the Bureau of Land Management and holds an estimated 2.175 trillion barrels of potentially recoverable oil.
